  • Host multiple training webinars for national dealer network to provide “101” training on grant programs and key customer characteristics for a successful grant application
  • Develop a new Sales Force module to allow dealership staff to input basic customer data and receive an immediate “red, yellow, green” type response on the potential for the customer to likely receive grant funding
  • Provide a 24-hour call back service from qualified GNA grant staff for “green” opportunities entered into Sales Force by dealers and/or otherwise identified by national sales executives or others
  • Draft and submit grant applications for qualified applicants

Project Results:

  • $53.8 million in federal Recovery Act (ARRA) program grants secured: GNA wrote and/or assisted in the development of 14 applications submitted to the US Department of Energy in response to the Clean Cities solicitation under the America Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), which resulted in $53.8 million being awarded for the purchase of 860 alternative fuel and hybrid trucks and 15 natural gas fueling stations across the United States.
  • DTNA sold multiple units of every advanced vehicle and alternative fuel platform offered: Based upon the grant funding secured by GNA, DTNA sold multiple units of every advanced vehicle and alternative fuel truck platform offered, including trucks and tractors powered by CNG, LNG, diesel electric hybrid, and hydraulic hybrid engine technologies.
  • Ushered in the modern area for alternative fuel medium- and heavy-duty truck technologies: Based upon the results of GNA’s efforts, DTNA and several of its high-profile customers helped to define and usher in the modern era of alternative fuel vehicle technologies for commercial transportation. Ryder, UPS, P.A.M. Transportation, and many others were able to initiate significant deployment projects via this successful GNA-led grant funding initiative, thus giving way to the tremendous momentum seen in the market today.
