Barbara Brentano, Audience Development Manager

Barbara oversees a campaign of marketing, outreach, and communications efforts on behalf of American Honda Motor Company for the promotion of the Civic Natural Gas sedan in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. She develops business opportunities with public and private fleet customers and tracks industry developments with the goal of increasing awareness and promoting sales of this advanced technology vehicle.

Barbara identifies and participates in natural gas industry events, trade shows and other events where it is beneficial for American Honda to exhibit the Civic Natural Gas sedan. She is constantly focused on the development of fleet business opportunities and has a solid network of industry contacts to support this work. During her tenure at GNA, Barbara provided on-site management for two of the nation’s largest and most successful truck fleet modernization programs–the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Truck Replacement Program and the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach Clean Trucks Program. In this role, she directed a staff of bilingual advisors at two outreach centers located at each port complex and acted as a key liaison working with the port trucking community, the regional regulatory agencies, and the ports. Barbara worked with harbor trucking companies as well as individual harbor drivers to facilitate the process of applying for grants for equipment replacement and was responsible for the logistical operations of each center, in addition to managing communications issued on behalf of the two programs.
