Through your work, you will support strategic communications campaigns for a variety of projects and clients spanning the full spectrum of the clean energy and transportation industries.

    Your Responsibilities Include:

    • Support media and communications projects for GNA’s clients, including educational webinars, newsletters, and media campaigns
    • Assist in the development of copy for thought leadership articles, websites, brochures, emails, etc.
    • Manage regular content updates to WordPress websites.
    • Identify key industry trends and issues of concern to GNA’s clients for thought leadership article opportunities
    • Support creative strategies to drive media coverage for clients and projects

This is an exciting opportunity to use your digital and email marketing expertise to help support the outreach for GNA’s large-scale advanced transportation and energy virtual events such as the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Virtual, Renewable Gas 360 Webinar Series, the California Dairy Sustainability Summit, and the Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) Forums and Symposiums.     Digital Marketing:

  • Regulatory Compliance Specialist | Santa Monica, CA

    Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (GNA), a national clean transportation and energy consulting firm, is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in working with the commercial fleet operators and OEMs to comply with California mobile source regulations.

    Regulations and policy trends are generally areas that people either really love or try very hard to avoid. If you are one of the former, this is an exciting opportunity to expand upon your existing skills and experience to lead a team here at GNA as we grow our work with leading commercial fleet operators, OEMs and other industry stakeholders.

    The candidate for this role must be intimately familiar with the suite of CARB regulations (T&B, T&B Hired Fleets, ACT, SWCV, ICT, PSIP, TRU, LSI, PERP, SB1, etc.) as well as the EPA and ARB audit processes. The right candidate is not only well-versed in these regulations, but also has a healthy respect for their complexity and the need to double check the requirements and triple check all analysis. Success will come from developing and implementing detailed project management plans, including the management of other GNA staff. This is an expansion position that requires a driven individual that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment of creativity and market building.

    In these efforts, you will not be alone. The Programs Department is the nation’s number one grant writing and market development team. Because CARB regulations are intricately interrelated to these areas of expertise, we have been involved with the regulations since they were initially conceived in 2000. In addition to assisting our clients to stay ahead of the regulations in the most cost-effective manner, we are often sought out to help fleets that have run into problems trying to comply with the complex regulations. This new role will be to take leadership over the existing work and to help bring this crucial expertise to other struggling fleets that in many cases don’t even know that the regulations exist until the auditor shows up at their facility.

    This position reports to GNA’s Senior Vice President in its Programs Department and is based in our Santa Monica office. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions it will be remote-based until further notice.

    Your Responsibilities Include:

    • Leading GNA’s regulatory compliance service offerings to its existing client base.
    • Managing several members of GNA’s Programs Department team to fulfill GNA’s regulatory compliance services for several existing and expected new clients.
    • Working with fleet customers to collect and analyze mobile source regulatory compliance plans, strategies, data, and reports.
    • Developing cost-effective and strategic compliance strategies and plans to present to clients, which include capital and compliance cost projections and potential grant/incentive offset opportunities.

    This position will consist mostly of Project Management and Reporting, which includes the following job responsibilities:

    • Keep clean transportation and energy client projects moving by supporting and overseeing deliverables.
    • Assist clients in completing reports to public agencies on grants they have secured.
    • Track alternative fuel and advanced technology grant opportunities in assigned regions of the country, write grants as a team under guidance from management, and complete grant reporting compliance activities for grant funds obtained on behalf clients.
    • Client-facing e-mails, phone calls and meetings to present deliverables and field questions regarding grants.
    • Assist public agencies in reviewing grant applications.
    • Exceptional organizational and writing skills are critical for a candidate that is interested in this position.
    • Support GNA’s highly successful grant writing and funding procurement team.

    Additional job duties could include:

    • Project management: Provide efficient and cost-effective results on both client and company projects. Must be capable of independently setting, tracking, and reporting on progress related for multiple project and billable hour goals. Must regularly report on progress, challenges, and approach to team leaders and management.
    • Client Relations: Professionally interact with industry contacts and clients on a regular basis, understand their business needs, provide consistent and well-prepared status reports on deliverables, manage and address unexpected developments, and communicate research and recommendations in a confidence-inspiring manner.
    • Research: Conduct primary and secondary research on a broad spectrum of market, technical, and policy issues and assist in the development and production of high quality reports which provide this research to either specific or broad audiences. Be able to translate detailed and/or nuanced technical information into readily understandable and actionable information for you target audience.
    • Communications: Prepare regular memos on project status for clients and for staff. Create publication-quality and client-ready written reports, marketing materials, correspondence, grant applications, presentations, and other communications that clearly and concisely summarize project goals, accomplishments and recommendations in the most compelling manner for the appropriate audience.
    • Outreach and Organization: Develop and implement strategies to communicate the objective of projects to diverse audiences, including business, government, non-profit organizations and community groups. Conduct surveying, data gathering, and informational awareness campaigns via telephone, internet, in person, and other outreach strategies. Interface directly with a variety of contacts in to gather information for various projects.
    • Presentations: Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations which effectively distill and communicate GNA’s and/or our client’s project efforts, goals, and recommendations.
    • Business Development: Lead and assist in the identification and new project and revenue opportunities with existing and potential clients.
    • Firm Promotion: Actively contribute to the firm’s development and growth by participating in internal initiatives such as administration, human resources, marketing, infrastructure development, and team development.

    The ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Education: A BA or BS and a strong potential for professional success is required. MA, MPA, or MPP preferred.
    • Professional Experience: 2-5 years of experience in deadline-driven environments is required. Experience working with alternative fuels, advanced transportation technology, renewable energy, air quality, or energy policy is a plus.
    • Skills: Exceptional writing, research, analytical, communication, public speaking and presentation, organization, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. In addition to a strong technical/analytical background and top-notch communications skills, an excellent grasp of business strategy, marketing methods, organizational and leadership issues is also necessary. Must be able to learn from constructive criticism and adapt to rapidly-changing project needs and priorities.
    • Expertise: Technical and analytical expertise in the environmental and/or energy domain, combined with some communications, or public relations experience a plus.
    • Language: Fluency in English is required and Spanish is a plus.
    • Ability to Travel: Travel may be required.
