Below is a list of GNA's current projects. For more information about GNA's clients and areas of expertise, please see our Practice Areas page. Faster Freight - Cleaner Air (FFCA) Conference Series GNA is the developer and organizer of the Faster Freight - Cleaner Air conference series, the nation's leading conference series addressing goods movement and air quality issues. In 2004, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tasked GNA to organize the inaugural Faster Freight - Cleaner Air Conference and Expo (FFCA) in Oakland, California. Following on the success of the first event, subsequent FFCA conferences have been held in other regions. The Southern California FFCA attracts an international audience of over 800 attendees and is recognized as the premier event in North America showcasing solutions and resources to improve operations and reduce air emissions from the goods movement industry. The FFCA conference series allow attendees to participate in educational sessions covering a variety of topics focused on industry sectors including Marine, Rail, Trucking, Off-Road and Air Freight. The diverse attendee base includes port representatives, government agencies, terminal operators, shipping and trucking companies, utilities, unions, non-profit organizations, community groups, municipalities, equipment manufacturers, professors and students, members of the press and more. FFCA regional conferences include those held in the Pacific Northwest and on the East Coast. www.fasterfreightcleanerair.com Southern California Clean Vehicle Technology Expo On behalf of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), GNA organizes the Southern California Clean Vehicle Technology Expo, held annually each October. The Expo is part of the AQMD's overall program to reduce emissions from mobile sources, which are now the source of over 75 percent of the Southland's air pollution. At the Expo, public and private fleet vehicle operators receive the latest clean vehicle technology and funding information to help them more expeditiously and economically convert their fleets over to cleaner, alternative fueled vehicles. Highlights of the Expo include panels featuring experts discussing the latest technology and vehicles available for light-duty, medium heavy-duty and heavy heavy-duty, and a Ride & Drive featuring a range of vehicles from transit buses to school buses to street sweepers to an array of light-duty vehicles operating on hydrogen, natural gas, propane, electric and plug-in hybrids. www.cleanvehicleexpo.com Low Carbon Fuels Conference & Exhibit Series This GNA organized event showcases the fuels and technologies, policies and actions, and other ongoing efforts that will allow California to meet its goals to reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions, diversify its transportation fuel supplies, and establish a sustainable market for cleaner-burning fuels. With the recent adoption of AB32, (California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006), AB1811 and AB1007 (State Plan to Increase the Use of Alternative Transportation Fuels), 2006 BioEnergy Action Plan, 2006 Low Carbon Fuel Standard and many other initiatives, California is again reshaping the future of the transportation technologies and fuels. Low Carbon Fuels Conferences are two-day events where leaders from around the globe congregate to witness the tremendous progress that California has already made in these areas. The conference provides an opportunity for presentations, keynote addresses, discussion groups and other sessions for participants to learn and interact. The Exhibit Halls are filled with low-emission alternative fuel vehicle offerings, trade show booths, and other interactive displays. The inaugural Low Carbon Fuels Conference took place in April 2008 in Sacramento, California, arguably the world's hub for activity for low carbon transportation fuel innovation. www.low-carbonfuels.com The Interstate Clean Transportation Corridor (ICTC) The Interstate Clean Transportation Corridor (ICTC) is a planned network of alternative fuel dispensing stations along key roadways that serve associated alternative fuel vehicle (AFV) fleets that move freight between cities and states in the Western United States. It is the first economically sustainable and most successful planned clean fuel corridor of its kind in the nation. The goal of the ICTC Project is to mobilize and concentrate public and private resources to maximize the commercial viability of clean, alternative fuel trucks in goods movement. The ICTC Project links truck fleet operators to engine, chassis and fuel providers, as well as to public agencies that provide technical and financial assistance in order to facilitate the deployment of alternative fuel trucks and development of alternative fuel infrastructure along the corridor. The United States Department of Energy (U.S. DOE), United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), California Air Resources Board (CARB), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), California Energy Commission (CEC), San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG), Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District (MDAQMD), Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), and the Antelope Valley Air Pollution Control District (AVAPCD) have mutually funded the Project and are members of the Project's Steering Committee. Through the support of the ICTC Steering Committee, the Project provides complimentary technical and grant funding services to heavy-duty fleet operators looking to deploy alternative fuel heavy-duty trucks and infrastructure at key locations along the corridor. www.gladstein.org/ictc LNG Vehicle Fuel Consulting Group Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has been used as a clean burning alternative vehicle fuel in thousands of trucks, buses, waste collection trucks, and other vehicles in the United States for more than 15-years. With the substantial growth of the LNG fuels industry around the world, the opportunity to utilize LNG as a clean and low-cost vehicle fuel in heavy-duty vehicle applications is tremendous. The LNG Vehicle Fuel Consulting group provides the expert consulting services for the production, transport, storage, dispensing and use of LNG as a clean burning and low-cost vehicle fuel. The consulting team is a partnership between two of the world’s leading LNG consulting firms, Gladstein, Neandross & Associates and CDS Research (Vancouver, Canada). The project team has worked together on several large LNG vehicle fuel production plant projects. GNA is an industry leader in the LNG vehicle fuel market, with more than 15-years of experience developing and implementing LNG vehicle deployment and fuel station development projects. GNA has an exceptional record of success, having assisted in the development of more than half of all of the LNG vehicle fuel projects in the United States. CDS Research is a specialized engineering firm with worldwide experience working on large-scale LNG projects such as LNG import and export facilities, peakshave plants, satellite facilities, and related other activities. www.lngvehiclefuel.com Carbon Management Strategies The Carbon Management Strategies team is a partnership between two of the world's leading environmental transportation and green building consulting firms, Gladstein, Neandross & Associates (Santa Monica, California) and REthink Development (Culver City, California). Carbon Management Strategies provides a comprehensive approach to understanding and managing direct and indirect carbon emissions and works to identify current carbon output from these sources and develop and implement cost-effective strategies that produce measurable reductions. Clients are provided with a holistic approach to understanding, managing and reducing direct and indirect carbon emissions from transportation systems, buildings, energy use, and manufacturing and production processes. Carbon Management Strategies develops effective global warming emission reduction plans for transportation, commercial and industrial organizations by combining the best in: - Low carbon transportation technologies, management systems, and fuels for fleets, industries, municipalities, and supply chains.
- Green building and green operations for new and existing buildings, facilities, and campuses.
